Susan Corkum Menomonee Falls, IL • Stained Glass

Susan Corkum has been involved with art for over 30 years, receiving her BFA from Cardinal Stritch University in 1976. She has explored many different media, including: painting, jewelry and fiber arts, before concentrating on two and three-dimensional work, utilizing the combination of glass and metal.

Susan uses various textured glass and found objects along with a mixture of colors in each piece to create an eye-catching effect.

She believes that one should not be bound by traditional methods of stained and leaded glass, but rather one should be free to explore ideas that “transcend the typical”.

Susan’s work has been sold through art dealers and stores around the United States as well as to private collectors. Her work has been shown at Gallery 218 and the Schlueter Art Gallery, both in Milwaukee, WI, the Anderson Art Center in Kenosha, WI and the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, WI.

Her designs are contemporary and abstract with a bit of whimsy. Every piece is made inhouse by her.

Her work has also been displayed and sold at fine arts and craft shows in Illinois and Wisconsin along with the Fine Furnishing Show/Milwaukee.

She creates all of her designs in her studio using copper as her frame in many designs, leadfree solder (with silver) art glass, found objects, including glass and metal.
