RoseAnn Derks Noel • Dubuque, IA • Painting

RoseAnn Derks-Noel graduated from Clarke College in 1999 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree.  She set aside her career in nursing to follow a dream of becoming an artist.  That dream has turned into a transformation through the process of creating.

Derks-Noel paints in watercolors, oils, acrylics, and mixed media.  She is a signature member of the Iowa Watercolor Society.

Derks –Noel has shared studio space with a group of artist friends for over 15 years.  Their current creative space is at Studio Works, in the newly renovated Caradco Building located in the heart of Dubuque’s historic Millwork District.

RoseAnn Derks-Noel was an adjunct painting instructor at Clarke College (now Clarke University) and also taught numerous classes over the years throughout the Dubuque area.

She is represented by Outside the Lines Art Gallery and has exhibited in group shows there, as well as at Clarke College,  Rocco Buda Gallery, Manna Java Restaurant, and the Red House Gallery.

Derks-Noel finds a deep sense of expression rising out of her most recent work in  semi-abstract form.

Albert Einstein said, “Art is the expression of the profoundest thought in the simplest way.”  RoseAnn states, “I am so grateful to God for this gift of art as my simple expression of life.”

RoseAnn Derks-Noel lives in Dubuque and has two daughters and three grandsons who are “enough subject matter for the rest of my life!”  She recently remarried and has added 10 additional grandchildren to her subject matter.
