Kathleen Hubbard Sandpoint, ID Mixed Metals

I am a self taught metal-smith and am fortunate enough to have worked in a job I love for the past 28 years. Being a self taught artist and designer, has allowed my products to evolve over time into a style of my own.

Design is my passion. The continuing search for new processes, materials, textures and elements help satisfy my need for artistic expression. On a daily basis everything I see could serve as an inspiration for my next designs.

In the past 28 years I have designed jewelry for celebrities; had my designs appear in music videos and television series; appeared as a featured jewelry artist on QVC, the home shopping network on national television; and participated in numerous juried venues as well as local and home town shows.

My designs appear in many well know museums and American Handmade Arts and Craft stores. It is both a challenging and rewarding existence and I work hard to express my joy and passion in every piece of jewelry and art I produce.

My jewelry is 100% hand made for you in the Pacific Northwest. Materials I use in my designs may include bronze/brass, nickel silver, copper & sterling silver. Construction methods include sawing, cutting and the die struck method. All textured and design elements are applied by hand. Color & surface interest is achieved by antiquing, hand painting, resin & enamel and assorted crystals & semi-precious stones.

Re-purposed vintage tin is sometimes added for color and interest. Most jewelry is soldered by the use of lead free solder but I may also use cold connection techniques that include tiny screws and bolts or hand made rivets. My jewelry is hand dipped or sprayed with a protective coating. This coating may help those with sensitivity to various metals.

All of my jewelry has a lifetime guarantee.
